The short version

Twenty years wiring homes across Renfrewshire and West Dunbartonshire.
We answer the phone ourselves, and most small jobs are done that week.
You are told what is wrong and what it will cost before anything is touched.
The work is done tidily, tested, and the room left the way it was found.
And you have a number that gets answered if anything else needs a look.

One kind of job, two moments

Soffit lights, mid-job and finished.

Both photographs are our own, from two houses in Dargavel Village. The first is the middle of a job with the ladder still up. The second is the finish, which is the part you actually see every evening you pull onto the drive.

Mid-job Mid-job: a ladder up to the soffit of a house in Bishopton, a downlight being fitted and the cable clipped along the wall
Ladder up, lights going in A downlight being fitted into the soffit, the cable clipped neatly along the wall on its way round.
Finished Finished: downlights lit along the eaves and over the porch canopy of a new-build house in Dargavel Village
Lit, and left tidy Downlights along the eaves and over the porch canopy, switched on for the evening.

What we do

Six kinds of job, one number to call.

01 Lighting installation: a faceted grey ceiling pendant in a lounge, with the TV and media unit below

Lighting

Downlights, pendants, LED strip, dimmers

02 Kitchen sockets on the splashback and under-cabinet lights, fitted by an electrician in Renfrewshire

Sockets and switches

Extra sockets, USB points, outdoor power

03 A TV mounted flush on a wall with no visible cables, a floating unit and fire beneath

TV walls and media units

Mounted, cables hidden, sockets moved

04 Garden decking at dusk with wall lights on the slatted fence and the planters lit

Outdoor and garden

Soffit, security and decking lights, garden sockets

05 Three caged pendant lights over a kitchen island, the hob at the edge of the frame

Kitchens and bathrooms

Cookers, hobs, extractor fans, shower switches

06 A new-build house in Bishopton, looking up at the eaves from the driveway

Fault finding and repairs

Tripping boards, dead circuits, anything not working

01 / 06

Domestic and small commercial. Smoke and heat alarms brought up to the interlinked standard, immersion heaters, doorbells, and the small jobs other electricians will not come out for. General property maintenance too, from an outside tap to a TV on the wall.

How a job runs

What happens, and in what order.

You phone or message

The number comes straight to us, not an office. Send a photo of the fitting or the fault on WhatsApp and you will usually get a price or a visit time back the same day. Reviewers keep mentioning how quickly we replied.

We come and look

On the day and at the time agreed. Where a job can be priced on the spot it is, and a lot of the smaller ones get done there and then, the same visit.

The work gets done

Tidily, with the power off where it should be and everything tested before it goes back on. Anything else we notice while we are there gets mentioned, with options, not quietly added to the bill.

Tested, tidied, and a number that answers

The room is left the way it was found. Keep the number: the reviews are full of people who had us back for the next job.

The work

Photographs from our own jobs, nothing bought in.

Finished rooms, finished outsides and a couple of details. Three of these are closer crops of photographs you have already seen further up, because we would rather show you less than show you somebody else's work.

Gary has done several jobs for me now and has been brilliant every time and wouldn't go anywhere else. Always professional and reliable. Had an emergency at 10pm on a Saturday evening and he was the first person I called. Gary came round to make sure everything was safe and secure before coming back next morning.

Gary Campbell of Dargavel Contracts Ltd fully restored my faith in tradesmen. He came very quickly, assessed the cheapest way for me to get the job done, and did it on the spot. He is a true gentleman. Most understanding about my lack of mobility and amazingly reasonably priced. I was quite amazed.

Absolutely fantastic service. Gary came to sort an electrical issue with my boiler and was able to resolve it in a matter of minutes. Gave great advice for future planning as well. Very fair pricing and a reliable business. Will be giving him a shout again very soon.

Job started off relatively straightforward but the last set of downlights proved much harder more difficult due to studs crossing over and hampered by concrete floor above ceiling but electrician persistence paid off and job was completed, pleasant and competent workman.

It's not always possible to get a realible tradesman these days. I'm happy to say I've found one in Gary. Reliable, friendly and good at his job. What more do you need.

Very quick to respond and got the job done within a few hours of posting. Explained everything to me so I understood what was being done. Would recommend. Cheers Gary.

Gary, from Dargavel Contracts, was fantastic. I needed a new bathroom fan, bathroom spotlights and a mirror placed into the mains. He was timely and even early one day. The bathroom looks fantastic and the lighting is perfect. He helped me pick out good products and fairly priced.

Absolutely delighted with the work carried out by Gary and have no hesitation in highly recommending him. Gary is friendly, arrived when he said he would and carried out the work required quickly and at a very fair price. You really should hire him, you won't be disappointed.

Where we work

Bishopton first, and out as far as the job makes sense.

Based in Dargavel Village, so Bishopton, Erskine and the rest of Renfrewshire are the home patch, with regular work over the bridge in Dumbarton, Clydebank and Helensburgh and into the west of Glasgow.

Questions people ask

Before you phone, the usual questions.

Do you charge for a quote?
No. Where a job can be priced from a description or a photo we give you the price by message, and where it needs a look we come out and look. There is no charge for that either, and no obligation.
How quickly can you come out?
We normally come back to you the same day, and most small jobs go in the same week. A photo of the fitting or the fault on WhatsApp gets the quickest answer.
Which areas do you cover?
Bishopton is home. We work across Erskine, Paisley, Johnstone and the rest of Renfrewshire, over the bridge in Dumbarton, Clydebank and Helensburgh, and into the west of Glasgow. Somewhere else, phone and ask.
Do you take on small jobs?
Yes. A single socket, one light, a doorbell or an extractor fan is a normal day for us. The small jobs other electricians will not come out for are exactly the ones we do.
Do you fit interlinked smoke and heat alarms?
Yes. Every home in Scotland now needs interlinked smoke and heat alarms, and we fit and replace them, including bringing older alarms up to the current standard.
Who turns up?
Gary, the director. The phone comes straight to us, not an office, and the person you speak to is the one who does the work.
Do you do anything other than electrics?
General property maintenance, from an outside tap to a TV on the wall. Ask, and we will tell you straight if it is not something we do.
